# How To Ban Players On Soulmask Server

Managing your Soulmask server effectively requires knowing how to handle disruptive or unwanted players. This includes the ability to ban players when necessary. In this guide, you will learn how to find a player’s Steam ID and how to ban and unban them from the server.

## Finding The SteamID Of A Player

Before you can ban or unban a player, you need their SteamID. The SteamID is a unique numerical identifier assigned to every Steam user. To find it, follow these steps:

1. Go to [steamid.io](https://steamid.io/).

2. Enter the Steam Username or Profile URL of the player, then click on the "lookup" button

3. After looking up the player, copy the steamID64, as that is their Steam ID, which you will need to ban/pardon players.

## Banning A Player In Soulmask

To permanently remove a player from your Soulmask server, you first need to open the Console by pressing the tilde (~) key and enter the following command, which will enable a sort of "ban list":

```
gm EnableServerPermissionList 1 1
```

Once you have enabled the ban list, you can then enter the following command in the console and replace <SteamID64> with the player’s actual SteamID. Once executed, this command prevents the player from rejoining the server until you decide to unban them.

```
gm AddServerPermissionList 1 <SteamID64>
```

## Unbanning A Player In Soulmask

If you wish to allow a banned player to rejoin your server, use the following command:

```
gm RemoveServerPermissionList 1 <SteamID64>
```
