# How to change the castle decay rate on your v-Rising server

Before you begin, make sure to fully stop your server. You should first activate the default mode on your server.

1. Navigate to the File Manager.
2 .Go to the path shown in the following image (container/VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerHostSettings.json) and locate GameSettingsPreset.

Enter **custom** and save the changes.

Once the default game mode is activated, we will now change the configuration.

3. Go to the path shown in the following image (container/VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerHostSettings.json).

Look for the line CastleDecayRateModifier and modify it. Setting it to 0 disables this function.


Once done, simply restart your server and verify that the changes have been applied.
