# How to change the frequency and strength of red moons on your v-Rising server


# How to change the frequency and strength of red moons on your v-Rising server

Before you begin, make sure to fully stop your server. You should first activate the default mode on your server.

1. Navigate to the File Manager.
2. Go to the path shown in the following image (container/VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerHostSettings.json) and locate GameSettingsPreset.

Enter **custom** and save the changes.

3. Once the default game mode is activated, we will now change the configuration of the red moons.

4. Go to the path shown in the following image (container/VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerHostSettings.json) and locate BloodMoonFrequency.

Here you can change the maximum and minimum frequency in seconds, and the strength **BloodMoonBuff**

Once done, simply restart your server and verify that the changes have been applied.
