# How to change the game mode on your Soulmask Server

### Changing Your Server Game Mode

You can configure the game type in your Soulmask server settings file, which is located on your server's control panel. Follow these steps:

1. Access your control panel and stop your server.
2. Navigate to Startup.

3. Find "Extra Arguments" 
4. Choose whether your server is PVE (default) or PVP.

| Argument | Description |
| ---- |
| PVE (Default) - Players cannot attack each other. | -pve |
| PVP - Players can engage in combat with one-another. | -pvp |

Once you have made your changes, ensure you **Save** the settings and **Start** the server.
