# How To Make A Rust Server With No Monuments

To make yourself admin on your Rust server, **open the server console (or RCON) and run ownerid YOUR_STEAMID64 "YourName" "reason", then run server.writecfg to save it.** Reconnect to the server and press **F1** to use admin commands. Use moderatorid instead for limited access.

This guide is for server owners who need admin access on a self-hosted or hosted Rust server. It covers finding your SteamID64, the commands, saving the config, and what admins can do once they’re in.

## How to Make Yourself Admin on a Rust Server

1. Find your [SteamID64](https://steamid.io/).

2. Open the server console or RCON.

3. Run \`ownerid YOUR_STEAMID64 "YourName" "reason"\`.

4. Run \`server.writecfg\` to save it.

5. Reconnect to the server and press **F1** to open the in-game console and use the desired commands.

### Find Your SteamID64

Paste your Steam profile link into a [SteamID finder](https://steamid.io/) and copy the number labeled **steamID64**.

### Run ownerid in the Console or RCON

1. Access the [Apollo Panel](https://control.sparkedhost.us/).

2. Open the **Console** tab, or connect with your RCON tool.

3. Type the following command, replacing the ID, name, and reason:

```
ownerid 76561198000000000 "YourName" "admin"
```

### Save With server.writecfg and Reconnect

* Access the [Apollo Panel](https://control.sparkedhost.us/).

* In the console tab, type:

```
server.writecfg
```

* Reconnect to the server.

## Owner vs. Moderator (and Oxide Permissions)

### ownerid vs. moderatorid

| Command | Auth Level | Access |
| ---- | ---- | ---- |
| `ownerid <SteamID64> "name" "reason"` | 2 (owner) | Full admin access. |
| `moderatorid <SteamID64> "name" "reason"` | 1 (moderator) | Limited staff access, like **kicking**, **banning**, **muting**, and **teleporting**. |
* Run the desired command, then \`server.writecfg\`, then have the player reconnect.

### Oxide groups and permissions (oxide.grant, oxide.group)

If your server runs Oxide, plugins use their own permission system. Being an admin in the game doesn’t automatically give you plugin permissions, so you grant them separately.

| Command | What It Does |
| ---- | ---- |
| `oxide.grant user <name/id> <permission>` | Gives a user a permission. |
| `oxide.revoke user <name/id> <permission>` | Removes a permission from a user. |
| `oxide.group add <group>` | Creates a permission group. |
| `oxide.grant group <group> <permission>` | Gives a group a permission. |
| `oxide.usergroup add <name/id> <group>` | Adds a user to a group. |
| `oxide.usergroup remove <name/id> <group>` | Removes a user from a group. |
| `oxide.show group <group>` | Shows a group’s members and permissions. |
| `oxide.show perm <permission>` | Shows who has a permission. |
## All Rust Admin Commands

Run these from the **F1** **console**, your **panel's console**, or **RCON**.

### Player Commands (kick, ban, users, teleport)

| Command | What It Does |
| ---- | ---- |
| `users` | Lists connected players with their SteamID64 and names. |
| `status` | Shows server details and the player list. |
| `kick "<player>" "<reason>"` | Kicks a player from the server. |
| `kickall "<reason>"` | Kicks everyone. |
| `ban "<player>" "<reason>"` | Bans a player who is online. |
| `banid <SteamID64> "<name>" "<reason>"` | Bans a player by SteamID64, online or offline. |
| `unban <SteamID64>` | Unban a player. |
| `bans` | Lists banned users. |
| `banlistex` | Lists banned users with names and reasons. |
| `teleport2me "<player>"` | Teleports a player to your position. |
| `teleportpos "x y z"` | Teleports you to specified coordinates. |

### Server Commands (say, spawn, entity commands, server.save)

| Command | What It Does |
| ---- | ---- |
| `say "<message>"` | Sends a message to all players in chat. |
| `server.save` | Saves the world. |
| `server.writecfg` | Saves changed settings and admin changes to the config. |
| `spawn <item/entity>` | Spawns an item or entity. |
| `entity.spawn <entity>` | Spawns an entity where you’re looking. |
| `entity.spawnhere <entity> <distance>` | Spawns an entity at a distance from you. |
| `ent kill` | Destroys the entity you’re looking at. |
| `ent who` | Shows the SteamID64 of the player who placed an entity. |
| `entity.deleteby <SteamID64>` | Destroys everything a player has built. Use with extreme caution. |
| `env.time <hour>` | Sets the time of day. For example, `env.time 12` for noon. |
| Use `entity.deleteby` carefully, since it removes every object that the player placed. | |

## How To Remove & Change Admin Access On A Rust Server

To remove access, run the matching command in the console or RCON, then save:

* **To remove an owner:** use \`removeowner <SteamID64>\`.

* **To remove a moderator:** use \`removemoderator <SteamID64>\`.

* **To change someone’s level:** remove their current access first, then run \`ownerid\` or \`moderatorid\` with the new level.

* **To remove plugin permissions:** use \`oxide.revoke user \<name/id> <permission>\`, or \`oxide.usergroup remove \<name/id> <group>\` to take them out of a group.
