# How to Run Multiple Worlds on One Valheim Server

You don't need multiple servers to run multiple worlds on a server. Running multiple worlds on one Valheim server helps players and communities keep different gameplay experiences organized without needing separate hardware for each world. A Valheim dedicated server can host different Valheim worlds, making it easier to maintain a main survival world alongside a fresh world, testing environment, or backup world. Learning how to run multiple worlds on one Valheim server can also help communities give players more variety while keeping their existing world data, server files, and automatic backups organized. For game hosting providers and server owners, managing multiple instances on one machine can also be a practical way to use available resources better while keeping each world.
