# How to set up your v-Rising server as private

1. Before assigning a password to your server and making it private, make sure to stop your server.

2. Navigate to the Startup tab.

3 .Go to the Server Password section.

4. Enter a password here. Players will be prompted for a password when trying to join. You can also remove the server listing in the next section.
