# Why is my bot being rate-limited?

With our Apollo panel, you can host and control your server using your discord bot. We will show you what happens when the bot gets rate-limited. Please follow our instructions:

### Why is my bot being rate-limited?

__Error 429 - Rate Limited__

If you’re receiving a Rate Limit alert, that is because your discord bot is producing more than 50 requests per second to Discord's API (50 requests per second is their limit for standard discord bots). This is dependent on the size of your bot you may be able to request more.

Mainly for rate limits, it could also be other people on the node causing the issue. Once there are a few people letting us know that there is a rate limit, we will investigate and help to get your service back up.

__How can I tell if I am being rate limited? __
When you start your bot, you will see a ‘429 error’. Let us know if you do, and we will help you solve it.
