Debugging basic errors on your Valheim server

When hosting a valheim server, you will encounter some errors along the way. This guide will help you resolve these issues if present on the server.

Debugging basic errors on your valheim server

Head to the startup section of your service and change the Server Name variable value to another name and restart the server



(Optional) - If the above does not work - disable crossplay and restart the server.

Error: Couldn't resolve host name

This fix is fairly simple, it requires you to contact us here to transfer your service to a new node.

Player Disconnected - After trying to join the server.

If this is happening - Go to the startup section of your service and disable crossplay. Restart the server and this should be fixed.
