How to access SSH on cPanel
SSH on cPanel can be very useful if setting up PHP applications that require commands to be executed.
Let’s find out how to purchase and access SSH on cPanel!
Note: You will need to purchase the SSH addon package to use SSH in cPanel!
Head on over to the Billing page.
Click on “Services” at the top of the nav bar. It should open a dropdown list. On the dropdown, click “View Available Addons”.
Select the “SSH Access” addon. From the dropdown menu, Select the web hosting service. Click “Order Now”. Follow the instructions on the screen to purchase the add-on.
After purchasing the addon, please create a ticket. The SSH Addon has to be activated manually. To create a ticket, please click here.
Login to the cPanel dashboard. You are able to log in using the button on the web hosting package.
Once logged in, Head down over to the “Advanced” category and select “Terminal”.
A notification will pop up which will tell you about the dangers of SSH. Misuse of command line tools can corrupt or even destroy your data.
You now have access to the terminal. Here you are able to execute commands.
