How to Add a Datapack to a Minecraft Server

Data packs allow your Minecraft server to be more customized, overriding a lot of features that change actual game play, allowing server owners to:

Change crafting recipes

Customize /command Functions

Change Mod Behavior

Add New Enchantments

And much more...

This guide will show you how to install datapacks with the correct format, and how to add a data pack to an existing world.

Note: Data packs were added to Minecraft Java Edition versions 1.13 and newer. This guide will not work for versions 1.12 and below.

How to Install a Data Pack on Your Minecraft Server

Once you have your data pack file downloaded, you can add it to an existing singleplayer world or a server.

To add a data pack to your Minecraft server:

Login to Apollo Panel

Navigate to the File Manager of the server you'd like to install the data pack on.

Open "World" folder in the File Manager.

Open the folder named "datapacks"

From your computer, upload the .zip datapack to your "datapacks" server folder, leaving it in the zipped state.

Restart your server.

If you have enabled cheats, you can check that your data pack is installed in game by using the /datapack list command. If the data pack is uploaded in the correct format, it should be enabled in your existing world. You can also create a new world on your server with your datapacks.
