How To Become Admin On DayZ Server

Running a DayZ server comes with the perk of stepping in as admin, giving you the tools to manage players, enforce rules, and test out setups without grinding through hours of survival. Becoming admin isn’t automatic though; it requires setting up permissions in your server files so the game recognizes your Steam account as having control.

Once added, you’ll have access to commands that let you monitor activity, kick or ban players, and even adjust gameplay on the fly.

Setting An Admin Password

  1. Go to the Apollo Panel, and ensure that the server is offline

  1. In the Properties Tab, set a password for admins in the "Admin Password" setting

  1. Start the server for the new admin password to get applied

Entering The Password In Game To Get Admin

  1. Launch DayZ and join the server

  1. Open the in-game chat(by default, it is "Enter") and type "#login <Admin Password>"
