How To Disable Anticheat - Project Zomboid

Disabling anti cheat in Project Zomboid is sometimes necessary for servers running custom mods or using Debug Mode features that would normally be flagged. It’s a server-side setting that allows more flexibility during development or roleplay scenarios—but should be used cautiously to avoid opening up exploits in public games.

Disabling Anticheat In Project Zomboid

To disable anticheat in Project Zomboid:

  • Login to control panel

  • Stop your server.

  • Go to the archives:

  • Find home/container/ServerFiles/Server/Pterodactyl.ini if you have previously modified your server name, it will appear differently, but it is still the same.

  • Do a search with CTRL + F typing AntiCheatProtectionType

  • You will see a long list of AntiCheatProtectionType1 - 24, find the ones you need to disable and change the text from "true" to "false".

  • Save the file and start your server.

Note: In some cases, some mods require certain types of anti cheat to be turned on. Read the bios of the mods you are going to install carefully.
