How to Increase RAM on Minecraft
Normally, modded launchers limit the amount of RAM that is set by default. This is usually set to around 4GB. Some mod packs require more RAM and it is actually recommended to up the RAM for the modpack as it will provide you with a better experience. This article will teach you how to up your RAM in Modded Launchers!

To increase RAM on Minecraft in the Vanilla Launcher:
Click "Installations" at the top

Select the profile you want to use. In this case, we will be choosing a Forge 1.19 profile. Then, click the 3 dots and press "Edit".

Click "More Options".

Scroll down until you see the "JVM Arguments" box.

Find the -Xmx argument. This is usually located at the start of the argument list. By default, the max RAM usage is set to 2 GB. In this example, we will set the max RAM usage to 8GB. To do so, change the argument from -Xmx2G to -Xmx8G.


Click the "Save" button.

To increase your RAM on Curseforge:
Select the modpack that you would like to increase the RAM of. In this example, we will be using the "All in One" modpack.

Click the 3 dots on the right hand side.

From the dropdown, select "Profile Options"

Uncheck the "Use System Memory Settings" box.

Now, use the slider to select the amount of RAM you want to be allocated to this profile. In this case, we will be allocating 8GB of RAM. To do this, we will set the slider to 8192. To calculate the value you require, simply do 1024 * amount of RAM. In this case, It would be 1024 * 8.

Once completed, click "Done".

To increase RAM on Technic Launcher:
On the top-right hand side corner, click "Launcher Settings".

From the tabs, select "Java Settings".

Under the "Memory" dropdown, select the amount of RAM you would like to allocate. In this case, we will allocate 8GB of RAM.

You do not need to save the configuration manually. It automatically saves your preference.
To increase RAM on FTB Launcher:
On the modpack of your choice, click the 3 dots. Then, click "Settings".

Find the "Instance Memory" slider. In this case, we will be allocating 8GB of RAM. To do this, we will set the slider to 8.00GB.

You do not need to save the configuration manually. It automatically saves your preference.
To increase RAM on TLauncher:
On the bottom-right hand side, click the cog icon.

From the dropdown, select "Settings".

Find the "Memory Allocation" slider. By default, this is set to 3000MB. In this case, we will be allocating 8GB of RAM. To do this, we will set the slider to 8192. To calculate the value you require, simply do 1024 * amount of RAM. In this case, It would be 1024 * 8.

Click the "Save" button.

To increase RAM on MultiMC Launcher:
Right click the profile and select "Edit Instance" from the dropdown.

From the left-hand side, click "Settings".

Click the checkbox next to "Memory". This will enable the option to edit the JVM memory flags.

Set the "Maximum memory allocation" to the amount of RAM you would like to allocate. In this case, we will be allocating 8GB of RAM. To do this, we will set the input box to 8192. To calculate the value you require, simply do 1024 * amount of RAM. In this case, It would be 1024 * 8.

You do not need to save the configuration manually. It automatically saves your preference.
