How to install and configure Simple Voice Chat
Simple Voice Chat is a mod that adds a proximity voice chat to the Minecraft! Remember you always have to install Simple Voice Chat on your client and your server. If you don't have it installed on your client, you can still join, but you won't be able to use any of the mod's features. In this guide you will understand how you can install Simple Voice Chat plugin on Paper/Spigot/Purpur servers and Modded servers like Fabric/Forge as well!
Before you proceed with installation, please allocate an extra port for your server by following this steps:
Login on Control Panel & Click on "Network" from the sidemenu.
Click on Create Allocation button and you will have a new port assigned to your server along with the one (Primary) you were having before.
Copy the new port other than primary. For example if we see the above image, we will copy the port 28957
Now depending on what server software you are using, follow the remaining guide!
Download the Simple Voice Chat plugin by clicking here.
After downloading, access the Control Panel, stop your server, and navigate to the "Files" section.
Open the plugins folder and upload the downloaded plugin into it.
Start the server and We have successfully installed the plugin! Let's configure it now!
Click on "Files" from the sidemenu.
Now open the configs folder, then voicechat folder.
Click on voicechat-server.properties.
Find the line port=24454 and change that port to the port you copied in the above mentioned steps.
Save the changes and restart your server.
IMPORTANT: We have successfully installed Simple Voice Chat on the server. Now, make sure to install Simple Voice Chat Mod on your Minecraft client. If it's not installed on the client, users can join but won't be able to use the mod's features. You can either use Forge or Fabric loader to install the Simple Voice Chat mod on your end. (Simple Voice Chat Mod can be downloaded for Forge/Fabric on CurseForge)
