How To Join A Minecraft Server On PC
Want to jump into a Minecraft server on PC and start playing with friends or exploring custom worlds? It’s super simple—here’s how to get going in just a few quick steps.
If you’re looking to join a Minecraft server on PC (Java Edition), there are a few things to get sorted first—but don’t worry, it’s all pretty straightforward.
First, make sure you actually have Minecraft Java Edition installed on your computer. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, just head over to the official Minecraft site and grab the game.
Next, double-check that the server you want to join is running Java Edition—Bedrock servers won’t work with the Java client, so this part matters.
Finally, your Minecraft version needs to match the server’s version. You can find your current version in the bottom-left corner of the Minecraft launcher. If it doesn’t match, you can easily switch versions using the Installations tab.
Once all that’s set, you’re ready to connect and play!
To join a Minecraft server on PC for Java Edition:
Open Minecraft and hit “Multiplayer” on the main screen
Click “Add Server” or “Direct Connect”
Type in the server’s IP address, then press “Join Server”
And that’s it—you’re in! Just make sure you’re using the right version of Minecraft for the server, and you’re good to go.
