How to Reset the End in Minecraft

Resetting the End gives your server a fresh start by wiping out all changes—player builds, and altered terrain in the End dimension. Even in modded servers, the vanilla dimension IDs stay the same whether you're fixing issues or want to refresh the dimension.

This guide walks you through a simple, effective reset process by choosing whichever dimension is needed, such as the end dimension.

Note: You cannot fully reset the end dimension for a Minecraft world on version 1.9 or above. It will result in a broken end dimension in your Minecraft server.

How to Respawn the Ender Dragon

To respawn the Ender Dragon on a Minecraft server:

Craft or spawn 4 end crystals.

Place 4 end crystals around the end exit portal.

If done correctly, the end crystals will explode and the Ender dragon will start respawning

Trimming Chunks in the End

Another option if you are looking to regenerate your end cities is to trim the end chunks in your world.

Before trying this method, sure to create a backup before trimming chunks or following any steps. This will reset everything from the buildings and mobs inside of the end dimensions (excluding players).

Stop your server from the control panel

Use MCA Selector

Download your folder named world

Add the downloaded world folder to your saves folder.

To find the following files and locate folder saves, click on Windows + R and type %appdata% and open .minecraft, then locate the folder named saves

Now choose the downloaded world using MCA Selector and open it, and choose the DIM1 folder, then click Select Folder

Now delete all desired parts except the main island in the end dimension, as deleting the main island might break the entire world.

Once deleted, you can restart or start your server and check on your new end world with the delete chunks option.

If done correctly, you've successfully ended deleting the chunks chosen in your Minecraft server world.
