What is a Dedicated IP?

Sparked Host offers servers with a default IP Address and Port, this is how you connect to your server with us. Although, for some, this may not be suitable.

Why a Dedicated IP over a Subdomain?

Subdomains, while useful, are designed with simplicity in mind but this can come at the cost of some players not being able to use your subdomain due to issues with your Internet Provider. Subdomains also do not provide you with the ability to use your own domain, like myserver.com and force you to use something along the lines of servername.sparkedservers.us which means you don’t get the ability to have your server name be the whole server address.

On the other hand, Dedicated IPs allow you to either have your IP be simple, or you can hook it up with a domain you own to have a nice address that belongs to your server.

How does a Dedicated IP affect my server specifically?

Minecraft Java: You will receive port: 25565, so your players can just type the IP of your server, minus the :25565 and be connected to your server directly.

Minecraft Bedrock: You will receive port: 19132, which means your players won’t need to change the port section of the ‘add server’ page.

How do I order a dedicated IP?

To order a dedicated IP, Simply add it as one of your addons. The dedicated IP has to manually be added to your server. This requires you to create a ticket and ask our support representatives to apply the dedicated IP onto your server. It is your responsibility to do this!

Already have an existing server? Don’t worry! Simply head over to the navigation bar and click “Services” then “View Available Addons”. You will then be able to select the Dedicated IP addon for your server.
