What is the difference between BungeeCord, Waterfall and Flamecord?

All of these pieces of software are proxies. They all act as a connection between multiple servers joined together.

What is BungeeCord?

BungeeCord is a piece of server proxy software that allows server owners to link Minecraft servers together so that players can jump between servers without having to disconnect and reconnect. BungeeCord is typically used by server networks that offer many game modes.

What is Waterfall?

Waterfall is a fork of BungeeCord, a proxy used primarily to teleport players between multiple Minecraft servers. Waterfall focuses on three main areas:

Stability: Waterfall aims to be stable.
Features: Waterfall aims to include more features than BungeeCord.
Scalability: Waterfall should be able to handle a large number of concurrent players, given a reasonably modern CPU, memory, and good network connection.

What is Flamecord?

FlameCord is a Waterfall modification to fix exploits, improve performance and protect against bot attacks. It also fixes Netty Exploits, improves Performance, keeps your console clean, orders your BungeeCord modules, supports all plugins & supports 1.7, 1.8, 1.12 with latest versions included. Netty Exploits lag connection threads to make the BungeeCord stop accepting connections by generating big errors or making the server process a lot of data. FlameCord fixes Netty Exploits by Temporally Blocking connections on the first invalid packet received & limiting packet sizes.

Flamecord is a great way to prevent bot attacks from your server. It takes many factors into count which prevent bots joining the server.

Flamecord also reduces server CPU usage by 50%. This can drastically improve server performance.

Note: Flamecord is a paid proxy.

Which one is the best for my server?

BungeeCord should be used if you would like to quickly set up multiple servers without caring for performance and features. It is an easy plug-and-play process with few configurations needed.

Waterfall should be used for more intense servers. For example, the server’s running a mini-game network. Waterfall is recommended to be used as it increases performance and security. Waterfall handles RAM usage well and the same goes for CPU usage.

Flamecord should be used for people who would like to secure their servers and proxy. It patches many exploits that are not in waterfall. It is built on top of waterfall so you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds. It includes security measures and fixes so you do not have to worry a lot about security.

Both Waterfall and Flamecord are recommended to be used. Bungeecord should be used as a last resort. This is due to waterfall and flamecord having great performance and overall usability.
