Restoring a Backup
Head over to the cPanel dashboard and find the "Backup Wizard" button under the "Files" section.
Under the "Back Up" section, click the "Back Up" button.
Here, you can choose whether you would like a full backup or a partial backup. This means that you can either backup everything or you can select what you want to backup. In this case, we will be making a full backup. Click "Full Backup".
It will now ask you where to save the backup file. It will also prompt you to enter in a email. This will be only used to send a notification to you when the backup is ready to download. If you do not want an email, check the "Do not send email notification of backup completion" check box.
Once completed, click "Generate Backup".
To access the backup, head over to the file manager and find the backup file which has the extension .tar.gz.
Right click the file and click the "Download" button.
Head over to the cPanel dashboard and find the "Backup Wizard" button under the "Files" section.
Under the "Restore" section, click the "Restore" button.
Select what you want to restore. In this case, we will do a "Home Directory" restore.
Upload the .tar.gz file to cPanel. Once completed, click "Upload".
