How to Disable Chat Reporting - Minecraft

Chat reporting is a feature introduced in the Minecraft 1.19.1 chat update that lets players flag messages they believe are inappropriate or violate the community guidelines.

This feature helps keep server chats safe and helps moderate multiplayer chats. When you report a chat message, the system automatically collects it along with some context from surrounding chat and sends it to the game developers for review. When running a private server that allows swearing, you won't want to have this new feature on.

Don't want people reporting chats on your Minecraft server? In this guide, we'll show you how to disable chat reporting on your Minecraft server.

Disabling Chat Reporting

There are multiple methods to disable chat reporting on your Minecraft server:

Method 1: Using Plugins

Check out our guide on how to add plugins to a Minecraft serve r for help with this method.

To disable chat reporting using plugins, you will need to follow these steps:

Install the No Chat Reports plugin here

Use Spigot or Paper for this plugin (The server software depends on what plugin you use)

After installing, drag and drop or upload your plugin into the plugins folder in the files tab

Now restart or start your server and you'll have chat reporting disabled.

Method 2: Using Mods

To disable chat reporting using mods, you will need to follow these steps:

Open your Apollo Panel

Go to the mods tab and install the No chat Reports mod in the desired version. Alternatively, you can drag and drop your mod into the server's mods folder. This mod can be installed on either the client side, the server side, or both sides

Now restart your server and you'll have installed the mod and disabled server chat reporting.
