How To Make A Hytale Server
Learning how to make a Hytale server means setting up your own Hytale server so you control the world, the game modes, the custom mods, and who gets to join. Whether you want a public Hytale server for the community or a private own server for friends, a dedicated server keeps your world online 24/7, even when you're offline.
With our hosting service, you don't need to worry about self-hosting, port forwarding, Java installs, server files, or complex configuration. You don't need any coding knowledge, and you don't need to leave your own PC running. Pick a plan, start the server, and you're ready to play.
This guide covers the Hytale server requirements, how much RAM and CPU you need, how to choose the right plan, and how to set up and connect to your server.
Recommended Plans
Every plan includes unlimited player slots, DDoS protection, 100 GB of storage, and the Apollo Panel. Because player slots are unlimited, your server's RAM and CPU decide how many players you can comfortably host. Pick the plan that fits your player count and whether you'll run mods.
Plan | RAM | CPU | Storage | Recommended For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
4 GB | 2 vCPU | 100 GB | Small servers and groups of friends, vanilla worlds | |
6 GB | 3 vCPU | 100 GB | Mid-size groups and larger worlds | |
8 GB | 3 vCPU | 100 GB | A growing player base or a few custom mods | |
12 GB | 4 vCPU | 100 GB | Active communities and modded servers | |
16 GB | 4 vCPU | 100 GB | Large communities and heavy modpacks | |
18 GB | 4 vCPU | 100 GB | Big player bases, high view distance, and heavy custom content | |
If you're wondering how many players your plan can handle, it depends on your view distance, world size, and mods. You can upgrade resources later without starting over. |

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: What are the Hytale server requirements?
The official minimum requirements are 4 GB of RAM. For most servers, the recommended requirements are higher, depending on your player count, world size, view distance, and mods.
Q: Do I need coding knowledge to run a Hytale server?
No. With our hosting service, we handle setup through the Apollo Panel. You don't need to install Java, configure your system, or touch the command line.
Q: Should I self-host or rent a Hytale server?
- Self-hosting means running the server on your own PC or a VPS. It can be cheaper if you have spare hardware, but you handle port forwarding, firewall rules, updates, and backups yourself, and the server is only online while your computer is.
- Renting from a hosting provider gives you 24/7 uptime, dedicated resources, DDoS protection, and a control panel that keeps everything simple.
Choose self-hosting if you want full control and have the technical knowledge. Choose hosting for convenience and reliability.
Q: What hardware does SparkedHost provide?
SparkedHost runs Hytale on enterprise hardware that meets and exceeds the hardware requirements, with modern CPUs, NVMe SSD storage, multiple RAM options, and high-bandwidth network uplinks across several locations. For full details, see Hardware and Locations – Sparked Host
