Downloading the Installer

Download the Installer you want from the official forge website. In this case, we will install the latest forge version.



Once downloaded, open the JAR executable. Select the "Install Server" option and set the directory to a empty folder. All of the required files will be downloaded into that folder.

Once completed, click "OK". This will start the process of downloading the necessary files.



Now head over to the directory you specified in the installer. We need to compress the libraries folder into the .zip format.

Setting up Forge

Upload the newly created libraries.zip file using SFTP. Learn more about SFTP in Apollo.



Unzip the folder. Click on the 3 dots and under the dropdown menu, select the "Unarchive" option.



Now head over to the startup tab.



Find the FORGE VERSION (1.17+) input box. Inside the input box, enter in the minecraft version and forge version in the following format: <MC Version>-<Forge Version>. In this case, we will enter the following: 1.20.1-47.1.43.



Start up the server. Forge has now been successfully installed!
