How To Make A Rust Server With No Monuments
To make yourself admin on your Rust server, open the server console (or RCON) and run ownerid YOUR_STEAMID64 "YourName" "reason", then run server.writecfg to save it. Reconnect to the server and press F1 to use admin commands. Use moderatorid instead for limited access.
This guide is for server owners who need admin access on a self-hosted or hosted Rust server. It covers finding your SteamID64, the commands, saving the config, and what admins can do once they’re in.

How To Remove & Change Admin Access On A Rust Server
To remove access, run the matching command in the console or RCON, then save:
- To remove an owner: use `removeowner <SteamID64>`.
- To remove a moderator: use `removemoderator <SteamID64>`.
- To change someone’s level: remove their current access first, then run `ownerid` or `moderatorid` with the new level.
- To remove plugin permissions: use `oxide.revoke user <name/id> <permission>`, or `oxide.usergroup remove <name/id> <group>` to take them out of a group.
