How to setup 2FA on your Apollo account
2FA is key to securing your account so no bad actors gain access to your account. Single authentication just involves a single factor: your Apollo panel password. 2FA authentication involves both something that you know (Your password) and something that confirms that you are the true owner (Like 2FA Codes). Let's find out how to add 2FA to our Apollo account.
Setting Up 2FA
Disabling 2FA
Login to your Apollo account and head over to the "Account" tab.
Under the "Two-Step Verification" tab, click "Enable Two-Step"
It will provide you with a QR Code image and a key. We will use this information to input into our 2FA application. In this case, we will be using Google Authenticator. You can get this application on both Android and IOS.
Scan or enter the setup key into your 2FA application.
Once completed, you will be give a 6-digit code that will automatically regenerate as it is time-based.
Enter in the latest 2FA Code that is shown on screen and your panel password into the Apollo panel, like so:
Press "Enable". A list of 2FA Backup codes will appear on your screen. These codes are used to recover your account if you are not able to access your 2FA application for whatever reason.
You need to keep these 2FA Backup codes safe. Not doing so may result in a bad actor using them to login to your account and/or you may not be able to login to your account!
And that's it! 2FA is now enabled and will prompt you to enter the 2FA code when you login to your account on a different device.
If you need to disable 2FA for whatever reason, there is a quick and easy process to do so.
Login to your Apollo account and head over to the "Account" tab.
Under the "Two-Step Verification" tab, click "Disable Two-Step"
and that's it! You have now disabled 2FA on your account.
