How to Setup 2FA On your Billing Account

2FA is key to securing your account so no bad actors gain access to your account. Single authentication just involves a single factor: your Billing Area panel password. 2FA authentication involves both something that you know (Your password) and something that confirms that you are the true owner (Like 2FA Codes). Let's find out how to add 2FA to our Billing Area account.

Setting Up 2FA

Login to your Billing Account and head over to the "Security Settings" tab.

Click on the button to enable 2FA on your account.

You can configure 2FA in different ways. Our billing area allows the use of YubiKey's and Time Based Tokens. In this case, we will setup 2FA using a Time Based Token.

Now follow the steps that are provided. As we chose to use Time Based Tokens, we will need to scan the QR code. In this case, you can use Google Authenticator. You can get this application on both Android and IOS.

Do not show this QR Code / Code to anyone. If someone gains access to the QR Code / Code, they will be able to see your 2FA Codes.

Scan or enter the setup key into your 2FA application.

Once completed, you will be give a 6-digit code that will automatically regenerate as it is time-based.

Enter the code into the input box and submit. 2FA should now be enabled on your account! If successful, you should receive a backup code on-screen,.

Note: You need to keep the 2FA Backup code safe. Not doing so may result in a bad actor using them to login to your account and/or you may not be able to login to your account!

2FA is now active.

Disabling 2FA

Login to your Billing Account and head over to the "Security Settings" tab.

Click on the "Click here to disable" button.

Enter your current password and submit.

2FA Is now disabled.
